Cristopher Méndez is a Chilean tattoo artist based in Valencia, Spain, internationally recognised for his neo-traditional style with vibrant, solid colour, drawing strongly on nature and animals. His career brings together two worlds that have always been with him: watercolour painting and the art of tattooing.
Artistic career
Over his career, Cristopher has taken part in numerous tattoo conventions all over the world, where he has won several awards for his technique and creativity. His art has also gone beyond tattooing: in December 2023 he held his first solo exhibition, Del Papel a la Piel, presenting a collection of more than 100 watercolours created over eight years.
His best-known collection came about during the 2020 lockdown, when the pause gave him time to go deeper into his painting and bring to life a series of watercolour skulls that have become an essential part of his work. Every piece, worked on for days with precision and patience, reflects his constant process of learning and artistic evolution.
